EEF Congress

Forthcoming Meetings

The EEF Congress is held every two years. The Congress is organised by the Federation, in partnership with a Member Organisation in the country in which the meeting will take place.

July 29-August 2, 2019. Lisbon. EEF 15th congress.

The “15th European Ecological Federation (EEF) Congress” will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Faculdade de Ciências of the University of Lisbon (Campo Grande), from the 29th of July to the 2nd of August 2019.

The overarching theme of this conference, Embedding Ecology in Sustainable Development Goals, is intended to promote discussions and interactions on how to integrate basic and applied ecological research, and their trans-disciplinarily impacts, for the effective implementation of the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Researchers and various stakeholders will have the opportunity to share outputs and innovative solutions in discussion forums, roundtables, and workshops.

We invite you to be part of this creative and exciting congress, by contributing with your recent results, expertise, and ecological research in all areas of ecology, and also in other scientific areas on the interface. We are expecting your suggestions for symposia, workshops and round-tables.

The meeting is open to all: students, researchers from the public and private sectors, and stakeholders involved in the fields of ecology and conservation, evolution, genetics, environmental sciences, climate change, agro-forestry, social-ecology, economy, managers, and related disciplines.

We hope that this congress will be an ideal venue for discussion, exchange and transfer of knowledge, and helpful in improving your collaborative network.

We look forward to meeting you in Lisbon in July 2019.

Past Meetings

11-14 December 2017. BES, GfÖ & NecoV Joint Annual Meeting: Ecology Across Borders

This was the first time that the BES, GfÖ and NecoV held a conference together and we were delighted to be working together to deliver a meeting of 1,200 leading ecologists from around the world in Belgium. The joint meeting aimed to build closer ties between the vibrant academic ecological communities in Europe, and met the strategic objectives of all three of the ecological Societies. The meeting brought together ecologists to discuss the latest advances in ecological research across the whole discipline and focused on the major environmental challenges at the European level. The meeting was held in association with the European Ecological Federation (EEF). For detailed information please visit www.britishecologicalsociety.org/events/annual-meeting-2017/
