On the past 29th of March the Society of Biological Science in Cyprus (SBSCy) officially joined the EEF community and the Nordic Society Oikos was officially promoted as representative of the five Nordic Societies.
The Society of Biological Sciences in Cryprus (SBSCy) is a non-profit scientific society that aims to promote all fields of biological sciences in Cyprus, including ecology and biodiversity-related fields. Because Cyprus is a small country (<1 million inhabitants), there is no stand-alone Ecological Society as such, the respective activities and interests are covered by SBSCy. The Society of Biological Sciences in Cyprus (SBSCy) was originally established in 2021 by 45 founding members sharing the objective of promoting the Biological Sciences. It aims to reflect the great changes that
have taken place in the way the Biological Sciences are taught and practiced in Cyprus in the past decades, such as the creation of related departments in the new universities and research institutes, and to be in line with international scientific trends and European practices in the field.
